Mission Scripture

Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.

Alma 26:12

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Ohio Cincinnati Mission was dissolved and I have been reassinged to the West Virginia Charleston Mission. I am currently serving in Salem, Virginia. I am enjoying sharing the gospel. It is wonderful to watch people's lives change as they accept the gospel. I have learned that the Lord always listens to us and answers our prayers. I have enjoyed helping people. The service that I have given has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my mission.

It's Not My Birthday Yet

yea i got the first package on thursday i believe, thanks for the shirts and the general conference talks, im not allowed to listen to talks not by general authorities so im gonna have to send the other one home, that is the same for books we're not supposed to have any books but we can have talks by general authorites.
the assistants were supposed to pick me up around 8 but they were like an hour late. martin is pretty good, i would compare it to summitt county. its pretty country and a little in the mountains, i like it pretty good.
1 my companion is elder t. smith, he is from lehi, i have been learing the area from him because he'll probably get transfered next week. he has been out for a year.
2. he has been here for 6 months, there are some investigators but not a whole lot of really solid ones.
3. i know of at least 3 missionaries that got transfered, im included in that 3
4. martin is a ward but not a whole lot of people come, the stake presidency came yesterday and talked alot about getting the less actives involved in the ward and back to church. its a pretty big area, we have a truck but the miles go by really fast so we bike 15+ miles a day. i would say it is a lot more country than georgetown, everything is a lot more spread out.
i don't think we're supposed to read newspapers but will you cut out all of the byu football ones and put them in a pile or somewhere in my room so i can see them when i get back? i especially want the ones from sunday morning that talk about the games the night before.
thats neat about john parberry being bishop, hopefully he will get a thing going where ward members write to the missionaries(thats what i would do if i was a bishop)
for stuff on the temple im mostly just looking for stuff by brigham young or the older prophets who say things about the temple that general authorites don't say anymore(elder Bendares talk "honorably holding a name and a standing or something like that) he quotes brigham young toward the end of the talk. that was a general confernce talk so hopefully you will be able to find that.
i want to watch bull riding....

i hope everything is going well
love elder taylor call
